It's been a long time since I blogged. So much is going on and I am doing my best to not get overwhelmed. I am grateful that my relationships are going well. Here's the update...
I came home from being in Colorado for a week and my toilet had leaked, ruining my carpet and part of my hardwood floors. I had the water mitigation folks come in and now my hallway and part of my living room is exposed sub-flooring. I am in the process of getting estimates from contractors (who are endorsed by my insurance company). What complicates all of this is my downstairs neighbor thinks my tub chute is leaking (wait, more water?!) so we are having a plumber come this week to see if that is what's going on - I sincerely hope my deductible is per year, not per claim, but I doubt it is an annual deductible. Add another complication: the toilet is still leaking and I probably need to get a new one. Not sure if this is covered as part of the claim. Ahhhhhh, the joys of home ownership. It's exhausting.
Meanwhile, work is extremely stressful because it's before our annual meeting and the overall tension in the city over the debt ceiling debate is evident. For me, it's like there is an undercurrent of negativity and distrust/disbelief. I am doing my best to not let it get me down, but it is very difficult. Add to this triple digit temperatures and one can see the stress in the city.
Thank goodness for my handsome dog, needlepoint to relax me and air conditioning! I recite my mantra and am meditating. I hope I can go to kickboxing 2-3 times this week.
Live the dream!
